Always pull the jammed paper from the bottom or output tray in the direction of the paper path. Pulling backwards can ruin the gears. Check the rear clean-out door or bottom duplex access path. Open the latches and clear any small pieces. If no paper is visible, inspect the paper tray with a flashlight to ensure the paper guide is snug against the stack. Clean the paper pick rollers: Dip a cotton swab in distilled water, press it against the rollers, and rotate them manually to scrub away paper dust.
