How do I safely refill the ink tanks on the Canon PIXMA G7020?

Lift the scanning unit cover and lock it open. Open the ink tank cover on the side you want to fill. Unscrew the silicon bottle plug, grab a matching GI-20 ink bottle, twist off the nozzle tip, insert it vertically into the tank neck, and allow gravity to drain the ink until the maximum fill line. Securely plug the tank cap when done.

Why is my G7020 printing blank pages or missing specific colors after an ink refill?

This is usually caused by air locks inside the flexible ink delivery tubes if the printer is dry or left unused. Navigate to Setup (wrench icon) > Maintenance > Ink Flush on the LCD panel. Note that Ink Flush consumes substantial ink, so ensure all ink reservoirs are filled at least 30% first.
